Sabine Grunwald is the Director of the UF Mindfulness Program, University of Florida (2015 – present).
Mindfulness is deliberately paying full attention to what is happening around you and within you (in your body, heart and mind) in the present moment. Mindfulness is awareness without criticism or judgement
Mindfulness enhances the cognitive, emotional, physiological, neurological and relational aspects of being in the world. Evidence-based research has shown that mindfulness improves working memory, attention span, coping with stress (e.g., exams, dissertation research), emotional health and resilience, and others. Mindful education, teaching and learning is an important aspect of a holistic approach to higher education.
