What We Do in the PLG Lab
In the Pedometrics, Landscape Analysis, and GIS (PLG) Core Research Laboratory research is conducted using geographic information systems (GIS), geostatistical and statistical methods, remote and soil sensing (e.g. visible/near-infrared and mid-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy). We aim to describe the spatial and temporal distribution of soil and environmental properties and their spatial covariation to gain insight into complex environmental systems. Modern quantitative methods, including ensembles, machine learning, data mining, and BIGData processing are used for modeling.
The lab is located in McCarty Hall: Two computer labs (G197 and 1184) and a spectral laboratory (G187).
The PLG lab provides the following services: Grunwald Laboratory – Services (2017)
